A Perfect Fit

My dad surprized me with a great gift tonight. This one will fit the new laptop he gave me earlier this year. It has more pockets than I know what to do with!

Essentials

Big bandages for the day time, tape to make the huge, non-stick pads stay on for nighttime (because you need a bit more coverage when you're sleeping and less aware). Yep, these are must-haves when you rugburned your knee something horrid!

They Lied

They said we were in for a real blizzard. And the wind was bad, but the snow just didn't pan out. It was less than six inches--more like two if you spread it out evenly!

Floating and Falling

We've had storm clouds covering the sky for the last 24 hours--and the forecast says more will come, bringing snow. But they float so nicely here.

And in my utter and perfect grace, I decided to fall down the stairs tonight. And smack my head into the corner of the bench that sits at the bottom of the stairs. Don't ask my why I'm smiling, I look like hell--and there is massive swelling, but it's all spread out which helps hide it. The silver lining?

Mixing it Up

I got a refill at the mall before I left. And I stopped at Taco Bell because I didn't want to pay $9 for dinner. But Sarah and I were hanging out at Panera for the evening...so yes, I was a tad mixed up this evening!

Reflection

My dad has an old oil lamp on the mantle in the back bedroom. There are mirrors on the wall. That makes for some fun shots.

I helped out at the north store tonight--they have way better lighting that we do. And I love how all the glosses were arranged...

Eariler this week, Panera was OUT of Mt. Dew. It was a harsh and cruel thing. But tonight, my favorite sparkling beverage was back--and it earned a place in this project!

Blowin' in the Wind

The park in Parker has some fun art sculptures. This one is a hybrid of a dragonfly and giraffe. It was swinging about in the wind today and looked so much fun.

I was looking for something fun to take a picture of at church--I found the cymbals. I didn't use the flash since it would have reflected on the metal. The effect is sorta fun.

Flurry and Fury

I woke up to snow. I knew it before I looked out the window. I don't know who to explain it, sometimes you can just sense it.

Bonus shot! Because I thought it was really cool, and because I don't know when I might get another chance to snap this, I'm posting it tonight. This mask is about two inches high, and it's up on a book shelf. I like how it's sorta freaky. It reminds me of a book series I read about furies.

Kitty Kat

This kitty, Sally, just wanted me to pet her. Instead, I kept taking pictures of here. Maybe that's why she looks a little mad. Or maybe it's a cat thing. (Sally belongs to MangyCat, my dear friend).

I went to the nursery to do some cleaning today. And I have this thing for order, so I had to snap a shot of all the chairs on the table (which is how I set them all out so I can disinfect them).

Signs, Take Four: Little Questions

I've been house-sitting for this place since November, on and off. I've wandered the "yard" several times, but had never caught this little sign before.

Bright Spot

There was a wildfire near the Springs today, which put smoke in the air. Smoke and sunlight can create some amazing effects. As I was driving to work this evening, there was a bright spot with red clouds just over the peak, while the sun was just to the north. I love living here...

Anna's Bench

I wrote a poem last fall, using a picture of a bench in the midst. It's a sad poem--I called it "Anna's Bench". So now, when I see a bench, I think of that poem. This bench is much more happy, sitting in the sun.

Melting

I love the coming of Spring--you get to see all sorts of transitions, like this one: ice and water, plant part gone, part green.
